About Us
NAWIC Sacramento
The Sacramento Chapter # 63 of the National Association of Women in Construction was founded in 1963. In the past 45 years, NAWIC Sacramento Members have contributed countless hours of hard work toward bettering the community and construction industry employment for women.
Sacramento NAWIC members have volunteered to help mentor girls to build cabins with Girl Scouts, hold Career Fairs to introduce girls of all ages to the construction industry, and raise money annually to give back a scholarship to a deserving college student, and are committed to education for both women working in the construction industry and for our youth.
Sacramento NAWIC has sponsored a wide range of construction related courses and seminars, including the Clemson University certification for Construction Industry Technician, throughout the year the chapter is participating in the NAWIC Education Foundation, WIC Week events, and Girl Scouts Under Construction Camp. We look forward to hosting Regional events and new fundraising ideas to raise funds for our Scholarship Program & Under Construction Camp.
Each month we hold a dinner/business meeting or job tour in the local area to expose members and guests to current topics and projects in the Sacramento Region. Attendees gain knowledge in a construction related program in addition to networking opportunities. Recent topics have included SWPPP regulations, LEED green construction, and safety.
